Thoughts on Pentecost

Pentecost really begins the celebration of the rest of our lives.  On Pentecost day, the disciples were given the gift of the Holy Spirit.  They would never be the same.  They were changed within, forgiven and emboldened to preach to the ends of the earth.  They laid the foundations for the Church of which we are the present manifestation.   Isn’t that amazing.  We follow in the footsteps of the apostles, those men who gathered together in an upper room and heard a roaring wind, who had flames dancing on their heads.  Well, we may not always see the flame or hear the wind, but we’ve been given the gift of the Holy Spirit and we too will never be the same.
