Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study Opportunities

Faith is nurtured as it gains both knowledge and depth of experience in life.  Knowledge feeds our actions and our actions help us understand more deeply.  Messiah knows this and is dedicated to providing thoughtful and dynamic Bible studies which seek to engage people along both spectrums.  Please visit one of our many classes which you feel will best embrace your place in life.  You can read general class descriptions below or click here to view page 1-2 of our Information Guide which contains the specifics of what each class is currently studying.
 
Kollmann Adult Class- This class is taught by our senior pastor in a large group format and studies the major teachings of the faith.
 
Zweiacker Adult Class- This class aims to dig deeply into various books of the Bible.
 
Parents (Family Foundations)- This group engages parents of different ages and backgrounds as they study a variety of Biblical, theological, and pracitical topics.  The class is led by a couple of different leaders, but always focuses heavily on sharing by the entire group.
 
GMC (Growing Marriages in Christ)- Consisting mostly of parents with young children, this group also studies a variety of topics, rotating between studies that speak specifically to the challenges such as marriage or parenting, but also working with studies of the Bible and faith-related topics.  Each class opens with time to share.
 
MEN- This group of men is focused on diving deeply into the Bible and equipping their members to be leaders in the church and community.
 
WOMEN’S CLASS- Women love coming to this class to delve into Christian books which speak to the soul and share how God's been moving in their lives.
 
Front-Liners- This class is focused on helping young professionals (21-30 Somethings) as they seek to apply their faith to the front lines of their lives- work, home, love, politics, and more.
 
Starbucks-This class uses an open discussion format to dig more deeply into the issues of faith, and meets at the Starbucks on Custer and Renner to make things comfortable and engaging.
 
College Age- The class will be designed to probe into the issues facing students in college settings as they interact with contemporary ideas, culture, and lifestyles.  The class will interact with media, Scripture, and use dialogue and discussion to go the heart of the issues on our campuses today
 
Adult Finances-Join Dick Huechteman and Chris Nivin as they work through key stories and principles on managing your money according to God’s plan.
 
Meet Messiah-If you would like to know about Messiah, and have a tour of our campus, please come to the Family Room, located on the right before you exit the doors to go over to the Education Building.

 

Midweek Bible Study Opportunities

TUESDAY MORNING WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY-Pastor Kollmann leads this class which uses various Lifelight studies.  This class takes a break from Memorial day to Labor day. 
 
TUESDAY WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY led by Ellen Thorne, is going through the Beth Moore study, “A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place.” Enter the sanctuary of our God and let Him reveal marvelous mysteries to you. This study explores the fascinating account of the building of the tabernacle, the significance of its design, the fulfillment of its purpose through Jesus, and its meanings for your walk with God today. You will be challenged to prepare your heart, like the holy of holies, to become a home for the Most High God. We meet from 9:30-11:00am in room E220S and baby-sitting is in E216S. Questions? TUESDAY EVENING WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY- Susan Nivin is leading the Beth Moore series, “A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place” from 6 - 7 pm, in room 214S. You can drop off the children at choir or in the nursery and have an hour of relaxation and growing in God’s Word with other women. Workbooks are available for $15. If you need babysitting, please let Susan or Amy Plenger know.
 
Wednesday Men’s Lunch and Bible STUDY is digging into the great narratives of the patriarchs in Genesis.  We'll take a story each week and explore all its elements- historical background, meaning of the text, and spiritual impact on Christians today.
 
CROSSWAYS Bible Survey on Thursdays, 7-8:30 pm, in the Library. Cy Collins leads this dynamic exploration of God’s grace in all the books of the Bible from a Lutheran perspective. The homework required reveals eye-opening insights into the culture and traditions of Jesus' day, so that His message explodes with radical new relevance to our own time.
