Ongoing Activites

MYM (Messiah Youth Ministry)  – Sunday Nights, 5:00-7:00 p.m. for grades 5-12

MESH – Wednesday Nights, 7:00-8:30 p.m. for grades 9-12

JAM - Wednesday Nights, 6:30-7:30 p.m. for grades 5-8.

CHILI AND BINGO!  Sat. Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. is our youth sponsored Chili cook-off and bingo night. Come share your culinary creation!  There is no charge for this event, but if you would like to make a donation all money will go to World Vision.  Please email eledford@messiahlutheran.com if you can attend or if you would like to share some delicious chili with us!

SIGN UP FOR YOUTH QUAKE ZONE! We are so excited about the upcoming Youth Quake Zone on March 2-4! We are looking forward to witnessing our youth worship, learn, and experience spiritual growth together! This event is for grades 6-12, and the cost is $75. Scholarships are available. FLOWER FUNDRAISER Purchase flowers in the Narthex starting next week. Pick up flowers on Feb. 12. Pricing: 1 flower = $3, 2 flowers = $5, 3 flowers = $7, 6 flowers = $12, and a dozen flowers in a vase = $25. 

YOUTH GARAGE SALE FUNDRAISER is on March 24! As you start your spring cleaning, keep in mind that we will need your donations! You can start bringing items to be sold on March 20^th. Thanks for your help!

Confirmation Program

Messiah approaches confirmation in a unique way.   We ask that our youth come to Bible Class on Sunday mornings for regular strengthening in the Word.  Rather than adding to that a weekly confirmation class, we've created a camp experience.  Every summer we gather our students who are entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, and we take them to Camp Briarwood, where we run a Confirmation Camp for four days.  During this time, our students do devotions together, worship and praise God, spend serious time with our leaders studying his word and the Catechism, do service projects, crafts, games, eat, laugh, and grow together.    In addition to our 6th-8th graders, each year we have senior high youth who volunteer to come as servants to help mentor our younger students, while serving in various capacities throughout the camp.  We've found that this time as campers and as servants is often one of the best memories our youth carry with them.
